Anuvu completes more than 100 Airconnect inflight connectivity installations for Turkish Airlines.

Anuvu has completed the installation of its Airconnect inflight connectivity system on more than 100 Turkish Airlines’ A321 and 737NG narrow-body aircraft, the company said in a May 8 press release.

The solution integrates Anuvu’s Ku-band network, Airconnect system and Airtime portal with Turkish Technic’s servers and wireless access points, as well as Profen’s Türkiye-based terrestrial infrastructure, to service both international and domestic flights.

“With Anuvu’s Airtime portal, Turkish Airlines’ passengers can now easily and quickly connect their devices through our simple activation process,” said Mike Pigott, Executive Vice President, Connectivity, Anuvu. “The portal validates WiFi with business class and Miles&Smiles loyalty passengers, processes payment in local currency and complies with local ISP regulations, creating a great onboard experience.”

Pigott added that the installation of more than 100 Airconnect systems is a significant milestone for the company.

“I’m proud of the dedication of our team in reaching this goal. Through our collaborative partnerships, we deliver a reliable and high-performing service, raising the standard for inflight connectivity through continuous innovation,” he said.

Anuvu’s Airconnect system currently operates on more than 1,000 aircraft worldwide. The system provides global, high-speed connectivity that allows passengers to browse, work, scroll, message and stay connected inflight.

“We ensure our passengers enjoy an enhanced inflight experience, including top-quality connectivity for uninterrupted online activities at 30,000 feet,” said Levent Konukcu, Chief Investment and Strategy Officer, Turkish Airlines. “As we’re impressed by Anuvu's efficient installation and delivery of high-speed connectivity we're glad to collaborate with them to offer an IFC solution across multiple routes.”

Cem Odaman, Chief Business Development Officer of Profen, also expressed pride in the collaboration with Anuvu to provide connectivity solutions for Turkish Airlines across domestic and international routes.

"We believe that Profen will make a significant contribution with its state-of-the-art ground stations in Türkiye and its long-standing Satcom experience,” he said. “This partnership underscores our dedication to advancing the inflight experience for passengers and providing seamless access to high-speed internet. It's a milestone for both companies, setting a new standard in inflight connectivity excellence.”

Anuvu obtained European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approval for three internally developed Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for A321, 737-700 and 737-900ER aircraft as part of the installation program.
