Croatia Airlines selects Panasonic Avionics for inflight Wi-Fi
Panasonic Avionics Corporation (Panasonic Avionics) has signed an agreement with Croatia Airlines, to provide Wi-Fi services for the airline’s new A220 fleet.
The airline will outfit its fleet with Wi-Fi capabilities for the first time, through the installation of Panasonic Avionics’ Ku-band satellite connectivity on 15 A220s by 2027, the April 3rd press release said. The first aircraft is set to enter service in June.
Passengers travelling on Croatia Airlines’ A220 aircraft will have access to high-speed inflight Wi-Fi, enabling them to stay connected, work, surf the web or communicate with loved ones using their enabled devices while inflight. Every seat on the A220 fleet will also feature USB-A and USB-C ports, alongside smartphone and tablet holders for an elevated passenger experience.
Croatia Airlines has chosen Panasonic Avionics as its provider for its Ku-band connectivity solution, fulfilling the airline's requirement for state-of-the-art connectivity. This decision was made to ensure alignment with the A220 platform.
The Ku-band antenna installed on Croatia Airlines’ A220 fleet will connect each aircraft with Panasonic Avionics’ global communications network of high-speed, high-bandwidth satellites.
“We are honoured that Croatia Airlines has chosen Panasonic Avionics to provide the first-ever onboard Wi-Fi services for its fleet. We are confident that it will enhance the airline’s engagement with its passengers and the inflight experience it offers,” said Hernan Abbes, Vice President of Global Sales, Panasonic Avionics Corporation.
Croatia Airlines joins the more than 70 leading global airlines to have selected Panasonic Avionics’ inflight connectivity services.
"We are thrilled to announce the introduction of onboard connectivity for the first time in our thirty-five years history, coinciding with the arrival of the A220 aircraft. This agreement with Panasonic Avionics aligns with our mission to enhance the inflight passenger experience and deliver top-quality connectivity to our valued customers,” said Jasmin Bajić, CEO, Croatia Airlines.
