Inmarsat’s Head of Business Aviation said 1000th activation of Jet ConneX comes at an important time for the industry

Inmarsat celebrated the 1,000th activation of Jet ConneX at the NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition in Las Vegas on October 13. The milestone coincides with Jet ConneX's fifth anniversary.

The company’s Head of Business said the 1,000th activation of Inmarsats inflight connectivity solution comes at an important time for the industry.

The business world has evolved considerably since the onset of COVID-19 and during times of unprecedented turbulence and instability, business leaders cannot afford to be disconnected,” said Kai Tang, Inmarsats Head of Business Aviation. “As a result, we have experienced a rapid surge in demand for the fast, reliable and consistent inflight Wi-Fi that only Jet ConneX can deliver, wherever and whenever they fly. We believe this is a long-term trend that wont level off as we come out of this COVID era.”

Tang said the industry outlook is bright and he is looking forward to working with Inmarsats partners to build on the momentum of the past five years.

As part of these efforts, we are investing more than ever in several upcoming next-generation satellites, plus significant enhancements to our ground stations, hardware and software, all backed by world-class cybersecurity,” he said.

According to Inmarsat, Jet ConneX is the preferred linefit option for Gulfstream, Bombardier and Dassault, and uses JetWave hardware by Honeywell Aerospace. Inmarsat has received type certificate and supplemental type certificate (STC) approvals for the service from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
