Chef Alexander Herrmann designs fun new kids' meals for Lufthansa

By Rachel Debling

Ensuring the meals were as nutritious as they are delicious was one of Chef Herrmann's goals as he designed the dishes

A menu brought to life by 2-star Michelin Chef Alexander Herrmann and featuring creative dishes such as "dragon feet" is now available on long-haul Lufthansa flights.

In March, a jury of 13 children between the ages of four and nine helped decide which meals prepared by LSG chefs will be included on the menu, with Herrmann assisting the process. The selected dishes include dragon feet (poultry sausages served with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes) and rice pudding mouse (a composition of creamed rice pudding and raspberries).

The meals can be ordered free of charge for children 12 and under up to 24 hours prior to a flight's departure on the airline's website. Lufthansa long-haul flights and some long European flights will feature the menu.
