HMSHost/Autogrill to open outlets at AYT
Through its HMSHost International division, Autogrill has entered an agreement with ICTur to operate eight outlets at Antalya Airport in Turkey.
The new business is expected to generate total revenues of around €110 million (US$124 million) over the contract’s 10-year term (2015-2025).
Through a partnership with the Turkish Company, which manages the entire food and beverage offering at the airport, Autogrill is expanding its operations in the country, now concentrated at Istanbul’s Sabina Gökçen International Airport, where the Group operates 16 points of sale.
The facilities cover over 600 square meters and offer a mix of international and house brands with four Starbucks, (opening for the first time in this Turkish airport), ”take away on the go” concept Kiosko, two Puro Gusto venues that serve premium coffee products as well as select culinary specialties, and Kebab & Beer Factory.
“The agreement entered with ICTur is a new step forward for Autogrill’s strategy of expansion in Turkey, where airport traffic is growing fast, thanks in part to major infrastructure investments undertaken by the Turkish government in the last few years,” said HMSHost International CEO Walter Seib.
With more than 28 million passengers in 2014, of whom around 80% international , Antalya is the country’s second biggest airport after Istanbul Ataturk and the 14th in Europe by passenger traffic.
