SSP has been awarded a seven-year contract worth €42 million (US$58 million) to run nine outlets at Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos.

The new restaurants and cafés welcomed their first customers in March. In the main terminal building, level 2, landside departure area, there will be a 500-square-meter food court, featuring a number of international brands as well as concepts designed to reflect the local cuisine.

SSP’s brasserie brand Le Grand Comptoir serves a full French menu and is available for quick snacks, coffee and wine.

Passengers can enjoy the authentic flavors of Greece at Plate’a. They will also be able to choose between upscale bakery brand Panopolis, pizza, pasta and panini outlet Negroni, and Asian concept Yum Cha, which offers sushi, maki and other Asian style foods. A salad bar, a juice bar and a "grab and go" area will complete the line-up.

On the Mezzanine level landside there will be an Italian Restaurant called La Pasteria, which will serve authentic dishes in a cozy and inviting environment.  There will also be a Flocafe coffee lounge, which is the leading coffee shop chain in Greece.

“Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos serves a large and growing number of international passengers, and we are delighted to be investing in this important European destination,” said Kate Swann, CEO of SSP.
