To access the Wi-Fi connection, which has been powered by Virgin Media and is available throughout the terminal, passengers need to sign in from their device in any area of the airport.

“We understand that in this day in age, people expect an internet connection wherever they go and the 2.5 million passengers we transport through the terminal each year are no different,” said Brian Ambrose, chief executive of Belfast City Airport.

“Whether they are traveling for business or leisure, an unlimited internet connection at the airport will no doubt make their journey more productive and enjoyable and I am therefore delighted the airport will now provide a totally unlimited internet connection at absolutely no cost to the passenger.

In the past four years, the airport has invested over £15m in its facilities to enhance the passenger experience and make their journeys as easy as possible. The latest investment is sponsored by Ulster Bank.

“We live in a connected world with ever increasing numbers of consumers using smartphone and tablet technology. At Ulster Bank, we have seen a rapid rise in the number of customers using online and mobile banking channels so we understand how important it is for customers to be able to log on wherever and whenever they want,” said Ian Jordan, head of business direct at Ulster Bank. “We’re delighted to partner with the George Best Belfast City Airport to enable them to provide this really helpful service for passengers.”
