Heathrow Airport opens viewing platform for passengers

By Tanya Filippelli

Heathrow Airport has opened a new viewing platform at Terminal 4 for passengers to use while waiting for their flight to depart.

The new ‘View Heathrow’ platform features a new 270-degree observation deck with a view of the southern runway, the control tower and British Airways’ Concorde. Fixed iPads on the platform show live flight radars and binoculars are offered for a better view.

“We are proud to be opening this viewing facility for passengers. We know that many travelers enjoy plane spotting and we are pleased to be able to provide them with the opportunity to do so once again,” Kathryn Leahy, director at Heathrow Terminal 4.

Heathrow Airport said it is currently seeking sponsorship for the platform.
