Local artists showcase work at Phoenix Sky Harbor International

By Tanya Filippelli

Nature-inspired artwork is on display at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Terminals 2 and 3.

The exhibition, “Birds, Blooms and Bugs,” features the works of more than 60 contributing Arizona artists from 22 cities around the U.S. state. The collection features nature in the form of creatures, flowers and insects, depicted in a variety of media including glass, fiber, ceramics and metals.

An accompanying exhibition in Terminal 2 features photography. The Phoenix Airport Museum includes an art collection of nearly 900 artworks, 35 exhibition spaces in six buildings as well as the Phoenix Aviation Archive.

The exhibition represents the work of artists who responded to the Phoenix Airport Museum’s call for entries last year.
