ORD opens Yoga Room in Terminal 3

By Rick Lundstrom

The Chicago Department of Aviation announced yesterday the official opening The Yoga Room at O'Hare International Airport.

The room is at the Mezzanine Level of the Terminal 3 Rotunda, adjacent to the O'Hare Urban Garden.

The 15-by-16-foot Yoga Room features bamboo wood floor, floor-to-ceiling mirrors on one wall, exercise mats and an area to place personal articles. Frosted windows on one side of the room let in natural light while providing discretion from adjacent public spaces. A wall-mounted video monitor in the room displays yoga exercise techniques and scenes from nature while the audio plays soothing sounds. A public restroom nearby on the Mezzanine is available for changing clothes.

The Yoga Room is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The CDA expects to open a similar space at Midway International Airport in the near future.
