By Rick Lundstrom

Singapore Airlines announced the opening of its newest SilverKris Lounge at Incheon International Airport  today.

The new SilverKris is equipped with the usual accouterments, including a business center with a bank of computers, Internet access, shower facilities and light snacks. It’s part of a S$20 million (US$16 million) investment in SilverKris facilities that will be built over the next five years. Ong&Ong, the architectural and design firm created the look of the lounges.

The first new lounge to be opened under the expansion program was at Sydney Airport. SIA has also opened a new SilverKris at Indira Ghandi International Airport in Dehli. The airline now has 15 SilverKris lounges in operation.

The new lounge at ICN has seating for 96 people. It is located at Level 4 of the Concourse terminal building.

“The new lounge, together with our four daily Seoul flights demonstrates our commitment to the important South Korean market,” said Sia Nam Kung, the airline’s manager for Korea.
