Burgers and Mexican with a healthy twist at BWI

By Rick Lundstrom

Two new restaurants with all-natural, healthy and organic ingredients on the menus are now at AIRMALL at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

Now open are a Chipotle outlet and BGR The Burger Joint. It is Chipotle’s second airport location in the country and this outlet is 801 square feet. Located in Concourse A/B, Chipotle features a menu of burritos, burrito bowls, tacos and salads.  The restaurant is committed to using natural and organic ingredients and local produce as much as possible. Chipotle also strives to offer high-quality meat from animals raised without the use of antibiotics or added hormones and dairy products from cows raised without the use of synthetic hormones.

Located in Concourse B, BGR The Burger Joint at 620 square feet specializes in made-to-order burgers.  BGR's burgers use a blend of prime, all-natural, hormone-free, grain-fed beef.  The restaurant also also has vegetable, turkey and ahi tuna burgers with side dishes that include sweet potato fries and asparagus spears.

"We welcome these new restaurants to the BWI Marshall concessions program, and know that travelers will appreciate the variety of healthy and satisfying menu items that they both offer," said Paul J. Wiedefeld, executive director of BWI Marshall Airport.
