KID-Systeme partners with DTI for wireless IFE package

By Lauren Brunetti

KID-Systeme, supplier of electronic cabin systems for passenger and corporate aircraft, has announced a partnership with DTI, the number one in-flight entertainment software-based content solutions provider, to integrate its SKYfi club package with DTI’s WISE™ (Wireless In-flight Services and Entertainment) platform.

Part of KID-Systeme’s SKYfi portfolio, SKYfi club streams content to passengers’ personal electronic devices, allowing them to access the available in-flight entertainment options on their own smartphone, laptop or tablet.

WISE™ provides in-flight entertainment content, including popular TV shows, movies, music, games, magazines and newspapers. The portal features the latest DRM (digital rights management) technology and content management capabilities for the content service provider and is currently being integrated into the SKYfi software.

Patrick Schrot, General Manager, KID-Systeme, says: “Our partnership with DTI makes SKYfi club the prime choice for airlines, who now have not only the technology to stream in-flight entertainment options directly to passengers’ own electronic devices, but also have instant access to a huge range of content.”

Alexis Steinman, Managing Director, DTI, adds: “SKYfi club provides the perfect fit for WISE™ and we are glad to bring our 15 years of specialized software experience to the product. We look forward to building a long-term relationship with KID-Systeme in the field of wireless in-flight entertainment services.”‎‎

KID-Systeme has also selected DTI to handle data integration from a variety of content sources, such as movies, news and advertisements, in accordance with the SKYfi platform’s specification and quality standards.
