Hayward Luxury and CLIP bring holiday spirit to JetBlue
Just over a year after debuting Hayward and Hopper’s inaugural JetBlue kits, another very series of amenity sets is being released just in time for the holidays.
Over the course of November and December, JetBlue will be offering the limited-edition kits to its passengers in Mint Class, the result of a collaboration between Hayward Luxury and CLIP. Complete with socks, personal care items, a dental kit, eyeshades, a pen and earplugs, the Hayward and Hopper kits also contain stylish fingerless gloves for use by the recipient beyond their flight.
Marin Hopper, the daughter of Hollywood royalty Dennis Hopper and Brooke Hayward and the creator and founder of Hayward and Hopper, commented on the inspiration for this series in a December 8 press release. "Growing up in Los Angeles in the 1960s, I always pictured my father with two items around his neck: his camera, and a bandanna,” she stated. “My mother would often wear bandannas in her hair – a more modern version of a scarf – as she drove around Los Angeles in a chic little convertible. Each of them seemed to embody the quintessential spirit of the American West in their own way: dynamic, inventive and free.”
It was these fond memories that provided the creative spark for the JetBlue kits. “For the Hayward and Hopper holiday kits, I designed two unique bandanna prints that celebrate that unique spirit,” Hopper said. She went on to note the floral motif featured in the Hayward kit was borrowed from hand-painted Fortuny wallpaper found on the ceiling of their New York store, while the Hopper kit takes the sun motif from the “Dennis Hopper Works of Art” sign in the same retail location. “It was also the logo of my grandfather Leland Hayward's flight school, Thunderbird Field, which was used as a training facility for pilots during World War II,” Hopper added.
