LSG Sky Chefs takes full ownership of Oakfield Farms Solutions

By Rick Lundstrom

LSG Sky Chefs announced December 10 that it has acquired the remaining portion of longtime airline supplier Oakfield Farms Solutions.

LSG Sky Chefs acquired a 51% share of Oakfield Farms Solutions in 2009. The company makes shelf-stable meal-box solutions for several airlines. The supply chain capability includes design, sourcing, assembly, manufacturing, packaging, sales and distribution of the products.

“The OFS business model builds on the know-how and experience of the company’s founder Harvey Alpert and was established in 1994 to fill a niche for shelf-stable snacks in the airline industry,” said a release from LSG Sky Chefs.  “Since 2009, OFS has multiplied its revenues by gaining a wide variety of customers to become the market-share leader in this category.”

LSG Sky Chefs has also extended the management service agreement with company founder, Harvey Alpert to maintain continuity of service and relationships.

“The Oakfield Farms portfolio ideally complements our customer offering and has significantly contributed to our success over the past years," says Dennis Sadlowski, Chief Operating Officer of North America Region at LSG Sky Chefs. “We thank Harvey Alpert for the great cooperation and look forward to continue working with him and his team to further grow this business within the framework of the new agreement.”
