Report tracks worldwide airline catering market

“With the rise in the number of aircraft in the global airline industry, the demand for in-flight catering services has also increased in the past few years,” said a summery of the report. Coming off the global economic downturn of 2008-2009, Market and Research predicts airline catering will “grow at a moderate pace in the next few years” as passenger traffic increases worldwide, more aircraft are brought on stream and innovations continue with airlines’ menu planning. 



The report covers passenger attitudes, food safety issues and how technology is used in hygiene and security. The summery also discusses the U.S. catering market, which has been recovering from the recession of 2008-2009 and adapting with the efforts to secure more customers for buy-on-board meal options. The summery also points out the Asia, Middle East and Africa markets, which offer “huge opportunities” for airline catering suppliers.
