Korean Air adds organic fare
Starting this month Korean Air began a rollout of organic vegetables and grains in its First Class and Prestige Class cabins.
The airline is contracting with Gewiss Land, a large organic farmer in Korea. The company is able to harvest and deliver the fresh ingredients within 24 hours of production. The new organic products are available on flights between Korea and United States and Europe, and will be expanded to medium and short haul flights next month.
The airline has also distributed mineral water from a plant at the foot of Halla Mountain on Jeju Island. The supplier, Korean Airport Services now boards the water for 30 airlines operating out of Korean airports.
KAL was host airline for the International Flight Services Association Global Leadership Conference held last week on Jeju. Look for further coverage of the event in the weeks ahead.
