Lufthansa adds new Star Chef

The Connoisseurs on Board program of Lufthansa German Airlines will include the a new member from an award winning restaurant in the Grieskirchen district, Austria.

Elisabeth Grabmer owns the Waldschänke restaurant. Her contributions to the inflight fare on Lufthansa include chicken salad with blue cheese and pine nuts, cured brisket of beef with beans and red radishes, smoked trout terrine, char served with braised cucumber and watercress purée, loin of suckling pig and an apple brioche soufflé with raisins.

The new offerings will be in the air in about six months, as the airline goes through test runs and changes. Lufthansa will also be promoting the region with programs on its inflight entertainment and printed material. Passengers will be able to listen to Bruckner symphonies and learn about the region in a promotion from the government Upper Austria.

Governor of Upper Austria, Josef Pühringer, says in the announcement of the promotion: “The main aim of the cooperation is to put Upper Austria on the international map – as a successful and innovative business location, an attractive holiday destination and a producer of healthy food. And so we hope that our on-board presentation of our province will be an experience for all the senses
