RTG completes first phase of factory

The first phase of RTG International’s new airline textile factory development, located in Lanxi City, China, is set for completion at the end of November.

RTG is building a 182,000 square foot facility. The first phase will be warehousing and sewing facilities, and also RTG’s own transfer printing and embroidery processes.

Next phase will be a knitting facility for RTG’s range of performance fabrics, Coolskyn, Brightskyn and Thermoskyn.

Finally, the company will install machinery, laboratories, offices, health and medical centre, recreational suite, dining facilities and accommodation

RTG will run the plant with a new computerized management system form Datel Protex similar to what is used at company facilities in the United Kingdom;

“Our plan is to be operational at a fraction of our overall capacity by March 2007, with capacity being increased throughout the year until we’re able to make around 7 million products per year,” says Marcus Aldred, RTG’s Production and Development Director.
