Emirates takes stake in Alpha Australia

Emirates, the UAE based airline, will acquire a 49 per cent interest in Alpha Flight Services Australia, the airline announced last week. 
 
Part of the agreement calls for Alpha Flight Services cater Emirates flights from Australia starting in January 2008. Alpha Flight Services caters at nine airports in Australia, with 16 customer airlines with more than 4 million meals per year.

Peter Smith, Managing Director of Alpha Flight Services Australia said: “We are glad to welcome Emirates as a partner. They have extensive experience in flight catering and an established reputation in the aviation services arena. We believe their expertise will help us raise the bar in the market for quality services while adding value to our customers and operations.”

Alpha has a total of five large units, which are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
