SSP concessionaire in Moscow
SSP will open several new foodservice outlets in Terminal 3 of Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport the company announced this week.
The new terminal will open next summer. SSP will have a Caffé Ritazza coffee shop, Upper Crust pizza, an outlet called the Flammen Grill and two pubs bearing the name Katie O’Connor’s and Bill Bentley. There will also be an outlet called the Hippopotamus Bar and Grill and a Flavours convenience store.
A similar lineup of outlets can be found in Terminal 2 of the airport, which opened a few months ago.
SSP has been operating at Sheremetyevo since 1994. “This new win has strengthened our position in the Russian market, and will provide an excellent foundation for our further expansion within the region,” said Johann Weinzetti, CEO of SSP Central Europe and Middle Eastern Division.
Shortly after the Moscow announcement, SSP announced that it would open two more outlets at Singapore’s Changi Airport. The first will be an O’Leary’s Bar and Grill located in the Terminal 2 transit area. Popeye’s Chicken and Biscuits will be located in the lower ground floor of the new Terminal 3.
SSP also recently signed a seven year contract to operate an O’Leary’s, Popeye’s and Caffé Ritazza at the Singapore Flyer, which will open downtown in the spring of next year. It will be the world’s largest observation wheel.
“Competition in the region is tough, and for this reason I’m particularly delighted that SSP has been chose for these prestigious ventures,” said Daren Lau, managing director of SSP Asia Pacific, in the September 26 release on the new contracts at Changi.
