JAL to launch first class domestic service

Starting in December, Japan Airlines plans to add a first class cabin on its 777-200 routes between Tokyo Haneda and Osaka Itami.

JAL operates seven daily flights in the service. The new cabin will have leather seats in a 2-2-2 configuration. The airline will tap the skills of “some of Japan’s leading restaurants” for the food service.

JAL plans to expand the first class service to other airports in 2008. Among those mentioned are other routes from Haneda and routes from Fukouka and Sapporo.
