Premium cabin planned on Qantas long haul

Long haul flights on Qantas will have a four cabin layout starting next year on the airlines 747-400 and A380s.

Premium economy will have seats with a 42-inch pitch, a self-service bar, premium wines, Neil Perry designed meals and upgraded tableware and furnishings. There will be 32 premium economy seats in the in a 2-4-2 configuration on both aircraft.

The first routes will be in February to London, Hong Kong and Johannesburg. The A380 is scheduled to arrive in August 2008.
