Servair expands in Africa

Douala, Cameroon is the location of Servair’s eighth and latest unit to open on the African continent.

The unit, called Doualair will be similar in size to its Dakar Catering operation in Senegal. Both supply around 1,500 meals per day.

Douala has an international airport that that handled around 600,000 passengers in 2006 and registered 18,000 takeoff and landing movements. Fifteen airlines currently operate service into Douala. Air France and Kenya Airways both operate daily service into the city.

Doualair will also supply restaurant servce to the airport and some of the off-shore oil platforms in the country.

“Each new establishment in Africa is an opportunity to participate in the development of the local economy, with the relations of jobs and the use of local producers,” says a released from Servair. “The respect of local specificities is a fundamental value of Servair.”
