PAX Reader Awards winners honored in Dubai Visitors to the ITCA Dubai Conference and Exhibition relaxed the mild sea breezes and enjoyed food and conversation the evening of November 17 for the event’s gala dinner, which this year included a presentation of the winners of the annual PAX International Readership Awards. A total of 10 winners, which included airlines and caterers from five regions of the world, received the handsome glass trophies. In addition to receiving the award for Outstanding Food Service by an Airline for Asia, Korean Air received the magazine’s top honor, the Distinction Award. The event took place outdoors at the Al Qasr Hotel in Madinat, Jumeirah a short distance along the sand from the stunning Burj Al Arab Hotel. Before the evening’s dinner, PAX International Editor in Chief Rick Lundstrom and correspondent Trevor Lloyd-Jones invited representatives from the winning companies forward to accept the trophies to mark their win. During the presentation, the PAX International editor cited other awards and accomplishments that the caterers and airlines have had over the past year. The Readership Awards are presented in four categories: Airline Caterer of the Year, Outstanding Food Service by an Airline, Airline of the Year for Food Service and Best First and Business Class Lounge. The absence of winners in some categories indicates no votes were made.
