Silversea test revamped cruise experience

Silversea will be testing a new cruise concept that promises, if expanded a more flexible experience for dining and other activities that it has dubbed “Privileged Passage.”

The line has designed the Privileged Passage as a way to attract first time cruise passengers that were put off with what they perceived as a regimented cruise experience. Privileged Passage does away with formal nights and receptions. Fitness facilities and spas will have extended open hours. Passengers can request early embarkation and late disembarkation at no extra cost. More amenities in the rooms and a greater mix of casual entertainment will be part of the Privileged Passage.

Silversea says that the smaller size of its vessels allow for the additional perks. Passengers will get their first crack at one of the cruises in April with the Silver Whispers 10 day itinerary through Greece, Turkey Syria and Cyprus.
