Santa train makes first runs

Santa Claus and his elves will take the rails aboard Amtrak the first week in December.

The U.S. rail line’s Santa Train will first be the Carolinian that runs between Charlotte, North Carolina and Salisbury in North Carolina. During the run, passengers will be entertained with music, games and holiday treats. Santa will make his way onto Amtrak’s Piedmont train, leaving Salisbury in the early morning, with a stop in Kannapolis, North Carolina and arriving in Charlotte.

Amtrak is giving children under 15 half price on an adult fare, which is usually US$8 each way.
