Celebrity chef designs snacks for Austrian Airlines
Staring last month, economy class passengers on Austrian Airlines’ short haul flights received snacks developed by chef Helmut Österreicher of the Restaurant Österreicher in Vienna.
The snacks will be on flight between 65 and 150 minutes. Passengers will get a fresh breakfast with a daytime meal served in an Austrian Snack Box. Snacks will also be distributed with coffee, tea, and water on flights within Austria.
‘This innovative form of free catering makes us the only airline to offer free snacks created by a prizewinning chef in economy class on short-haul flights. With this move we are making an uncompromising statement, that we are the Austrian quality carrier,” said the airline’s CEO Alfred Ötsch, in the November 16 announcement.
