The X’s Club marked its 30th meeting in October in New York
X’s Club sees the sights in New York
A foodies dream: a tour of a major culinary institute, in a major culinary city and fine meal with a little sightseeing on the side. All of it was part of the 30th meeting of the X’s Club, a group of airline food service and travel catering professionals.
The group’s 2006 Educational Tour took place in early October in New York. The group paid a visit to Kykuit, which was the home of John D. Rockefeller. There were stops at the home of Franklin Roosevelt and a boat tour of Long Island Sound.
The culinary end of the day was a visit to the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park. The group gathered in a private room at the Institute’s American Bounty restaurant where members dined on creations by the students. They then toured the kitchen and visited with the executive chef.
The club dined at the New York homes of the members with their official meeting held at Chateau Long, the home of John and Ginnie Long.
