Virgin/LSG relationship earns magazine accolades

The German catering magazine Catering Inside has given LSG Sky Chefs the Caterer of the Year award in the Strategy and Management category, for its partnership with Virgin Atlantic Airways.

Under the agreement between the two companies, LSG handles a number of Virgin services, from menu development, laundry and transport and logistics to the service of airport lounges.

The partnership produced significant savings from optimized procurement and supply chain activities. Negative crew comments have been decreased by 20 percent, says a release from the caterer.

This is the second time that LSG has received a Caterer of the Year designation. Catering Inside awards Germany’s caterers in categories of Strategy and Management, Newcomers, Nutrition and Food Concepts, Design Concepts and Employees and Motivation.
