PAX readership picks industry award winners
The readers of PAX International magazine honored Korean Air with the Global Travel Catering Distinction Award the Annual Readership Awards announced this week.
The award, an addition to the lineup of other designations, was added this year.
Throughout 2007, PAX International asked its readers to select the Best New Product Launch, Outstanding Food Service by a Carrier, Airport Restaurant of the Year and Overall Caterer and Airlines of the Year, for four regions of the world.
The winners will be presented with the awards at industry events around the world. This is the third year PAX International polled its readers, including more than 3,000 recipients of its twice-a-month e-mail newsletter
Winners in other regions, include the following companies
• Readers picked two other winners in Asia/Pacific. In addition to winning the Global Travel Catering Distinction Award, readers picked Korean Air’s catering operation as the Airline Caterer of the year, and Qantas Airways won for Outstanding Food Services by a Carrier.
For the Middle East and Africa, the readers picked Doha based Qatar Airways as for Airline of the Year, for Food Service and Etihad the winner of Outstanding Food Service by a Carrier. Gulf Air was picked as the winner of Airport Restaurant of the Year. Finally, Bahrain Airport Services was picked as Airline Caterer of the Year.
• For Europe, Lufthansa German Airlines won for Outstanding Food Services by a Carrier, Servair won as Caterer of the Year;
• And, for the Americas, Hawaiian Airlines won for Outstanding Food Service by a Carrier and Casa Proveedora Phillips in Costa Rica was picked by readers and Caterer of the Year.
