Gate Gourmet to acquire Indian unit
The world’s two large airline continue to jockey for position in the growing Asian markets, the most recent manoeuvre takes place in India.
Gate Gourmet announced May 2 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Advani Hotels and Resorts India, Ltd. to acquire Airport Plaza Flight Services in the coastal city of Goa.
Gate Gourmet says that the city is currently supplied with air service by a number of charter airlines and domestic carriers. It is a well-known beach destination. “India, with its vibrant economy, is a natural area of expansion where we can offer our unique blend of culinary innovation and logistic expertise to a new roster of clients,” said Guy Dubois executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer at Gate Gourmet.
The purchase is subject to due diligence and approval of Advani’s shareholders. Terms of the sale were not disclosed
