HMSHost opens in Oakland

A number of local outlets are among the 10 new restaurants and retail shops opening at Terminal 2 at Oakland International Airport.

The openings are part of the three-phase development plan for the airport. Among local names now found at Oakland is Fenton’s Creamery, a branch of the ice cream parlor that has operated in the city for 112 years. Other outlets are: Bayfront News and Bayfront Books, California Pizza Kitchen, Gordon Biersch, a brewpub with casual dining, Oakland Marketplace for gourmet foods and gifts, See’s Candies, Starbucks Coffee, Sunglass Icon’s and a gift shop called Under a Silver Moon.

In the next two phases, completed this year and in 2008, the airport plans to add nine new outlets.
