Club World retrofit picks up pace

British Airways reports that engineers are refitting three 747s per month with the next generation Club World cabin with larger business class seats and improved inflight entertainment.

Club World has 70 seats that extend to a 6-foot, 6-inch bed. BA has added entertainment systems with 100 movies and television programs on a 10-inch screen. Passengers relax in greater privacy in an interior of grays and navy blue. Thicker quilts and new linen and pillow fabrics enhance comfort.

BA says that it is spending £100 million (US$199 million) on Club World improvements.
