Princess plans up-close look at dining operation

Passengers on the Emerald Princess will be welcomed into the ships “inner sanctum” this spring to browse galleys and having pre-dinner cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Also, a select group of passenger with a yen for the gourmet will get to see the work up-close during dining hours, and sit down to a multi-course meal at a private table.

Princess will be offering the Chef’s Table evening for 10 passengers at a cost of $75 each on select nights during the sailing. The executive chef will join the passengers during the dessert course. Passengers will depart with an autographed copy of the Princess Cruises cookbook that has become a bestseller.

Princess says that its contingency of executive chefs have an average of 25 years experience in ship-side and shore-side restaurants. “This will give a select group of guests an incredible close-up view of how our dishes are created as served as well as introduce them to our talented executive chefs,” say Rai Calurori, in an announcement on the Chefs Table program.
