Qantas to roll out Premium Economy
Premium Economy on Qantas Airways will first be introduced on 747-400 flights from April on routes from Sydney to London, Singapore, Bangkok and Johannesburg.
Scheduled for May 2008 the airline plans Premium Economy flights on routes from Melbourne to London, Singapore and Hong Kong. By August the airline will roll out Premium Economy on flights from Sydney to Hong Kong.
Food service was one of the elements mentioned prominently in the announcement of the new class service. Passengers can start flights with complimentary pre take-off champagne or juice. When it's time to dine, they will have Neil Perry inspired menu complemented by premium Australian wines.
“And if you're a little peckish, you can choose from a selection of snacks and drinks available throughout your flight,” said a release from Qantas.
