Addis plans 2007 opening

Hamish Ledingham, formerly of Bahrain Airport Services was greeting visitors at this year’s ITCA Conference in Cologne with news of a new unit he will be managing in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia this year.

Ledingham and a group of expatriates will manage the 5,400 square foot Addis International Catering. The group has big plans for the startup, including a complete water treatment plant designed and controlled for airline catering. “The unit will be able to provide and support any uplift requirements and will also be equipped with a complete laundry and both wet and dry cleaning capabilities,” says a release from Addis.”

The company has selected a few suppliers, Meiko for the washup system, Inflair for catering management software and Mercedes-Benz for the high-loaders. The site for Addis International Catering will be adjacent Addis Ababa International Airport.
