Alpha signs on with Starbucks

Jersey Airport will see the first outcome of Alpha Airport Group’s new association with the coffee shop giant Starbucks.

Alpha signed a licensing agreement with the coffee retailer in mid May with a goal of developing coffee outlets at several U.K. airports over the next few years. Alpha will recruit and staff the stores and Starbucks will be in charge of providing products. The first airport in Jersey will open in October.

“Our clear strategy for Alpha Retail is to work with key partners to provide the strongest retail offering to the increasingly sophisticated consumer,” said Alpha chief executive Peter Williams in the May 14 announcement. “We believe that this will be a successful and rewarding partnership.”
