Aviapartner to cater Brussels leg of Jet Airways flights
India carrier Jet Airways has selected Aviapartner to supply meals on two flights as the airline ramps up its plans to make Brussels one of its hub operations.
The caterer announced July 18 that it would cater Jet Airways flights from Mumbai to Newark and Delhi to Toronto. Both flights have stops in Brussels. In November, Jet Airways plans another route through Brussels, this one from Bangalore to New York/Kennedy. By next year, the airline plans to add two destinations in the United States, bringing the total number of flights out of Brussels to 10 per day.
“We will be boarding two services per flight and expect to load around 5,000 meals per day once the target of 10 flights is reached,” said Christine Karels, communications manager at Aviapartner. The three-year contract could amount to 1.8 million meals per year, she added.
Aviapartner will be hiring an additional 50 workers for the new three-year contract with Jet Airways, which will take effect August 5.
