Star Chef picked for Lufthansa
A chef who has cooked most recently for world leaders at the G8 summit in Germany will now design meals for passengers in first and business class on Lufthansa German Airlines.
Tillmann Hahn hails from the German state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Among his dishes for first class are a terrine of baby carrots and goat cheese with dried tomatoes and herb gribiche and roasted monkfish in a hot and sour coconut milk. In business class passengers can select a soused herring called Hiddenseer Pfefferlappen with leeks salad or wok-fried chicken in a green curry sauce with capsicum, snow peas, cashew nuts and aromatic rice.
Hahn has worked in the legendary Schweizer Stuben Restaurant and the Landhaus Scherrer in Hamburg and the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong.
In other news from the airline, Lufthansa plans to operate an additional all business class flight from Hamburg to Newark. Lufthansa operates its all-business class service with a refitted 737 seating 44 passengers.
