Servair subsidiary introduces
airport management tool
A subsidiary of caterer Servair has recently purchased a computer program that will help it better control and manage the flow of assistance to passengers with limited mobility at Charles de Gaulle International Airport in Paris.
The subsidiary firm, Passerelle has purchase the software from a Danish company called Work Bridge. The software will track passenger locations within CDG terminals, manage teams, and evaluate availability in real time within the airport’s terminal.
Each day, Servair says that nearly 1,000 passengers passing through the airport require some type of assistance either boarding or disembarking. Passerelle’s fleet of 20 shuttles, 14 custom built lift trucks and 120 wheelchairs handle the task. “With the sustained forecast increase in traffic at Roissy in 2008, our activity is set to grow and develop and our recruitment needs will increase,” said Claude Deorestis, director of Passerelle in the June 28 announcement of the new service.
