GB and Gate Gourmet sign three-year pact

Gate Gourmet UK and Ireland will supply more than 2 million meals per year to GB Airways under a three-year contract announced June 22.

GB is a leisure airline that operates from London’s Gatwick and Heathrow Airports. The carrier has a fleet of A320s and A321s.

Eric Born, managing direct of the UK operations of Gate Gourmet said that he sees the new contract as a positive sign that operation’s turnaround in the United Kingdom -- plagued by walkout last summer -- continues on a course to break even this financial year.

“With productivity up, sickness levels down and this new business win now under our belts, we are showing the benefits which can flow from strong management, a committed workforce and a determination to succeed no matter how tough the marketplace,” Born said.
