Do & Co airline revenue nears $100 million
Austrian upscale caterer Do & Co saw revenues increase in its airline-catering sector to $93.97 million during the fiscal year ending March 31.
The caterer attributed much of the increase to its purchase of the airline-catering unit of the German caterer Stockheim, in December of last year. Stockheim catered Air Berlin out of several cities in Germany.
The move to acquire Stockheim pushed the company’s catering earnings up from $76.6 million from the previous year. Overall, the company earned US$178.65 million from its entire operation of airline and event catering and restaurant and bar operations. The company also reported before incomes tax profits of US$5.28 million for the fiscal year.
Do & Co purchased the division of Stockheim group in a joint venture with Air Berlin GmbH and Co. The new operation is called TIS, Total Inflight Solution Germany with a goal to provide high-quality catering for airlines and events. The company has 10 catering and logistics centers in Germany with 230 employees.
