Coffee company caters Indian carriers
A coffee company, in contrast to the five star hotels that have dominated the catering market in the country, is catering air Decca and GoAir, two fast growing airlines in India.
The Financial Times reports that fast food chains and coffee companies are stepping into the airline catering fray. Café Coffee Day is one of the first to earn contracts from Air Deccan and GoAir. The Financial Times reports that the company is also in negotiation with another low-cost carrier as well.
The market appears lucrative. The Financial Times reports that 65 percent of the passengers on LCC purchase snacks or beverages. Air Deccan has a revenue sharing arrangement with Café Coffee Day.
