Finnair installs new seating

The installation of Recaro’s Slimline CL3510 seats has allowed Finnair to increase capacity by 5 percent on its European and domestic routes and save nearly €1 million (US$1.3 million) per year, reports the airline.

The Recaro seats are built for weight savings and increased legroom in the economy cabins. Finnair officials say the savings means the A320s can hold an additional 15 passengers and will bring seating capacity to 159 on the A320 and 196 on the A321. Finnair expects its entire fleet of A320s will be outfitted with the seats by August of this year. The airline will then add the Slimline to its fleet of A319s.
