Eurostar rises in world of high-speed rail

A well-known face on both sides of the Atlantic will be Gate Gourmet’s senior executive chef to British Airways. The caterer announced January 15 that Steven Walpole will design meals for British Airways First Class. Walpole has been on U.K. television on BBC UK Food and on the Discovery Health cable television channel in the United States. He has cooked at the Browns Hotel, the Lanesborough, the Waterside Restaurant at Bray and in the House of Commons and Lloyds of London.

Walpole also lectures on issues such as child obesity and is a consultant chef to the Charity Hope.

David Wylde, Alpha Flight Services’ Supply Chain Development Manager will pick product lines and work in demand forecasting as part of the company’s Inflight Retail team. Also, Melissa Broomes has been named to the new position of retail assistant buyer. Before joining Alpha, she worked on range development at Jane Shilton, the women’s luxury handbag and shoe company.
