New French Star Chef for Lufthansa
During January and February, long haul flights on Lufthansa German Airlines will have a selection menu items designed by Anne-Sophie Pic of Maison Pic in the southern France city of Valence.
Pic has selected a number of gourmet meals for first class. Now being served is artichoke terrine with seafood sauce, and roast pigeon in nut crust served with quinoa grains, dates and mint. Business Class passengers can look forward to such delicacies as porcini marinated roast beef and grilled zucchini, smoked marlin with basil crème fraîche accompanied by ratatouille salad or almond-crusted tilapia served with onion endive fondue and rice.
The Pic family is well known in French cooking circles with three generations earning three star Michelin ratings. In September of last year, Pic was voted Chef of the Year and received the country’s highest culinary award.
Lufthansa has been operating the star chef program since 2000 and members design menus for first and business class on long-haul routes from Germany.
