First class food service on British Airways

BA completes new first class

Starting next month long haul flights on British Airways will be outfitted in first class with a range of new products and features designed for comfort, particularly for passengers desiring rest above all.

A range of fine cottons for mattresses, aromatherapy products and sleeper suits will be part of the service. BA is handing out “BAg” wash bags filled with accessories from Anya Hindmarch and moisturizers, balms and hydrating products from Kiehl’s Since 1851.

BA has also changed the first class meal service with a selection of canapés and lighter options bringing in dishes like lobster thermidor and Cornish game hen. The airline is working with Loch Fyne restaurants for its flights out of Heathrow and Gatwick Airports. The restaurant chain has developed a “catch of the day” program for the airline.

Finally there will be a traditional English afternoon tea service. The airline has signed on with Twinings teas and will add sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam with pastries.

The move by BA is part of an extensive program that started in November and will continue over the next 18 months. In the airline’s Club World cabin will be a new audio and video on demand service.
