Virgin brings aboard new airsick bags

Passengers who may be unfortunate enough to “feel the force” of airsickness will at least be entertained by the latest cheeky offering on Virgin Atlantic Airways.

The airline announced that it would be boarding five different designs of sickbags covered with Star Wars designs. The bags have detailed instructions for their use.

They were commissioned last December and Virgin will make 25,000 of each of the designs that will be first boarded in June. From the unique crowd who collect airsick bags, the Star Wars series is already generating bids on Internet clearinghouse Ebay for up to £85 (US$167) for a single bag and is generating interest from a museum that collects the bags, reports the airline.

"We anticipate an even bigger demand for out Star Wars sickbags because of the cult following of the films,” said Lysette Gauna, Head of Media for Virgin Atlantic.
