Lufthansa features Asian creations
In March and April, Lufthansa German Airlines will be boarding dishes from the Land of Smiles designed by Zhang Jin Jie of the Green T. House in Beijing.
Zhang has developed a range of menu items for first class passengers that includes starters of nashi pear with honey mustard sauce, goat cheese and caramelized walnuts or eggplant filled with jasmine rice served with broccoli, ginkgo nuts and lotus root. The business class menu includes slices of seared breast of chicken with ginger-sesame vinaigrette and pineapple-mango chutney or strips of beef simmered in soy sauce with ginger, egg noodles and China beans.
Zhang also takes her place among the group of Lufthansa Star Chefs. She is known around the restaurant scene as JinR and has been combining Chinese and Western cuisine at her Beijing restaurant since 1997.
